What is a Basket?

Updated this week

A Basket is a collection of individual positions such as stocks, options, or ETFs grouped together and managed as a single unit. Providers use Baskets to organize and manage subunits of model Portfolios. These smaller, targeted baskets give you more control to overweight specific investments. Both are directly investable on Plutus, and you can easily filter for baskets and portfolios in the Discover section.

Client Customization and Transparency

Baskets offer clients a clearer view of the specific themes and positions within a model portfolio. This structure makes complex strategies easier to understand and more transparent. Because Baskets are also directly investable, clients can choose to invest in only a specific portion of a larger portfolio or overweight a particular component of an existing portfolio. This flexibility provides a high level of customization for those who wish to emphasize specific market themes within their accounts.

Efficiency for Providers

For Providers managing large portfolios, Baskets allow them to organize their strategies and act quickly. By grouping assets into specific Baskets, a Provider can execute changes across an entire segment of a portfolio simultaneously. This structure ensures that even complex strategies remain agile and responsive to market movements.
