About Plutus
What is Plutus? Plutus allows you to access professional strategies from independent research providers and automatically sync them with your own brokerage account.
How does Plutus work? As providers update their model portfolios Plutus executes trades to keep your holdings aligned with your chosen strategy.
How does Plutus make money? Plutus is free for your first 3 months. After this period, we will transition to a monthly fee of 0.083% (~1% annually) based on your Account Value (NLV).
Which brokers are supported? We only support Interactive Brokers (IBKR) currently.
What countries does Plutus support clients in? Plutus currently supports clients in the United States and a select number of additional countries.
What features are available for free? You can use Plutus for free to discover providers and portfolios as well as track and analyze strategies without linking a brokerage account. You're welcome to use Plutus while you wait for regional access or decide to invest.
Account Setup
What are the steps to create my Plutus account? To get started, follow the onboarding flow under Profile.
What account types are supported? Plutus supports a variety of account structures, including individual, joint, trust, and corporate accounts.
How will I know if my account is approved? You’ll receive an email notification once your IBKR connection is verified.
How do I link my existing Interactive Brokers (IBKR) account to Plutus? You can link you existing IBKR account under Profile on Plutus.
What if I don't have an Interactive Broker's (IBKR) account? You can open a pre-formatted Interactive Brokers (IBKR) account from the Profile section on Plutus.
What does the error 'FA exceeds limit of clients' mean when trying to link my IBKR account? This is a generic error used by Interactive Brokers when a linkage request cannot be processed.
What trading permissions do I need to have enabled in IBKR to link my account to Plutus? If your existing Interactive Brokers account cannot link to Plutus, your trading permissions may exceed those enabled under our advisor account.
What is your cancellation policy? There is no long term contract with Plutus. You can exit whenever you like with no penalties.
How are existing positions handled? Existing positions are either closed or left untouched to align with your selected model portfolios and baskets.
Can I place trades in my IBKR account after launching? No, manual trading is disabled to avoid disrupting the automation.
Do I need IBKR Lite or IBKR Pro to use Plutus? Plutus requires IBKR Pro.
Is a margin enabled account required? Yes, a margin account is required to use Plutus.
What is the required Base Currency to use Plutus? Your base currency must be set to USD.

Model Portfolios and Providers
What is a Provider? A Provider is a professional research firm that creates and maintains Portfolios and Baskets available on Plutus. They are responsible for selecting assets and determining the timing of rebalances to ensure the strategy remains effective as market conditions change.
What is a model Portfolio? A model Portfolio is a comprehensive investment strategy designed by a Provider. They are comprised of Baskets and/or individual positions.
What is a Basket? A Basket is a collection of individual positions such as stocks, options, or ETFs grouped together and managed as a single unit. Providers use Baskets to organize and manage subunits of model Portfolios.
Can I invest in multiple portfolios and baskets? Yes, you can invest in multiple portfolios and baskets under your Strategy.
Why are there Minimum Investment Amounts? Each portfolio and basket has a specific minimum investment amount determined by market constraints and account safety protocols.
What types of investments are supported? We support equities in most global markets offered by IBKR as well as US options.
Can I create my own portfolio or basket? No, you cannot create a Portfolio or Basket on Plutus as a client. You can only browse and invest portfolios and baskets created by approved providers.
Can I exclude certain tickers? Yes, you can exclude specific stocks from your account entirely under your profile.
Why are Portfolios and Baskets subscriber only? While some portfolios on Plutus are curated in partnership with external subscription services, you are never restricted from investing. Choosing to invest in any product automatically grants you full viewing access, regardless of your external subscription status.
Why are some products not investible? Products may be not investible due to provider discretion, risk or composition limits, restricted short positions in baskets, outdated research, or other factors. You can filter if products are investible in the Discover section.
How do I remove a Portfolio or Basket from my Strategy? Go to Strategy > Edit Strategy and click the trash can icon next to the product you want to remove.
How do I become a provider? We are committed to providing an extensive range of investment options without compromising quality.
Rebalances and Execution
What is a Rebalance? A rebalance is a series of trades that take place in a client account to ensure positions stay aligned with their chosen portfolio(s) when a Provider makes changes.
When do Rebalances occur? Rebalancing occurs whenever a Provider updates their model Portfolio or Basket. These updates may involve adjusting the weights of existing positions, exiting certain assets, or adding new ones.
How to Execute, Cancel, or Stop a Rebalance? On Plutus, there are no manual "Execute," "Cancel," or "Pause" buttons. Your account is managed entirely through the Strategy section.
When are trades executed? Trades are executed during the standard trading hours of their respective markets.
How do I view my account activity and trade history? You can view this information under Activity when signed in.
What order type does Plutus use? Plutus uses IBKR's algo trading to place market orders.
Are options supported on Plutus? Yes, we support US options. You can filter for baskets and portfolios that include or exclude options from our discover section.
Are short positions supported on Plutus? Yes, we support shorts.
What causes performance deviations between my account and my model Portfolios? Plutus aims to mirror model portfolios as closely as possible. Individual performance will vary due to differences in account size, trade timing, execution prices, excluded tickers, and other factors.
Why does my Plutus account have a cash balance? Cash balances may occur due to currency offsets, intentional strategy weighting, or minimum asset lot sizes that require rounding down positions with minimum lot sizes.
Why does my Plutus account have a negative cash balance? Many Portfolios and Baskets do not include a dedicated cash position and are fully allocated to investment positions. In these cases, account cash balances will hover near zero, either slightly above or slightly below.
Costs and Fees
How much does Plutus cost? Plutus is free for your first 3 months. After this period, we will transition to a monthly fee of 0.083% (~1% annually) based on your Account Value (NLV), which will also cover the compensation for model portfolio providers.
How much are commissions on IBKR? Plutus operates using Interactive Broker's tiered pricing plan. Your specific costs will depend on your chosen strategies, account size, and the frequency of updates made by your Providers.
Will I earn interest on uninvested cash? Yes, IBKR pays interest on eligible cash balances across 23 currencies.
Deposits and Withdrawals
How do I deposit and deploy additional funds into Plutus? For deposits, simply transfer over additional funds or assets. We'll deploy them once settled.
How do I withdraw funds from my Plutus account? You may transfer available cash or positions from your account at any time. For larger cash withdrawals, please notify us to liquidate holdings.
Navigating Plutus
How do I get around Plutus? You can use this guide to the navigate the left side menu when signed in.
What is the Discover section? (Compass Icon) Browse our expansive marketplace to filter, screen, and select portfolios or baskets that align with your investment goals.
What is the Strategy section? (Pie Chart Icon) Manage your account allocation and view high-level performance data, net liquidation value, and real-time margin requirements.
What is the Positions section? (House Icon) View a detailed breakdown of your current holdings, including ticker symbols, market value, and unrealized P&L.
What is the Activity section? (Heartbeat Icon) Track every trade and order executed in your brokerage account, including filled, open, and cancelled status updates.
What is the IBKR Status widget? (IBKR logo) Monitor your connection to your broker; a blinking green "Live" dot confirms your account is successfully linked.
What is the Notifications section? (Bell Icon) Stay informed with real-time alerts regarding portfolio rebalancing, market news, and dividends.
What is the Settings section? (Gear Icon) Restrict specific stocks from being traded or held in your account to satisfy personal preferences or professional compliance constraints.

Security and Compliance
How is Plutus regulated? Namsoft Advisors LLC is an SEC registered investment advisor. Please review our disclaimers and SEC filing for more information.
Can I delink my account from Plutus at any time? You can delink your account from Plutus at any time.
What happens if Plutus experiences an outage? In the event of a service disruption, your funds and existing positions remain unaffected. Automated trading is simply suspended until the system is restored.
How do taxes work? Plutus does not change how your investments are taxed. Please consult your broker for tax documentation.
