In the Dashboard section of Plutus, you'll find an expandable chart that tracks your account's performance. This chart includes two lines to give you a complete picture of your account:
Strategy Line: Your strategy's model performance inclusive of real-world execution constraints.
Actual Line: Your IBKR account's value (Net Liquidation Value). This is pulled directly from your Interactive Brokers (IBKR) account and includes exact trade fills, advisor fees, and trading commissions. This settled activity is updated on a one day delay which guarantees that all values have been updated by IB’s reporting backend.
Why is the Actuals line a day behind on Plutus?
We retrieve your 'Actuals' directly from IBKR's Activity Statements. IBKR only generates and updates these official statements once a day. To ensure your chart is accurate, Plutus retrieves the previous day’s finalized statement each morning. This guarantees that all daily trades, fees, and values have been fully processed by IBKR's reporting system. The Positions section of Plutus also updates using the latest available data on exact positions. Why does my IBKR account show a different daily performance than Plutus?
Please note that IBKR displays live, intraday, or after hours prices for daily performance figures. These fluctuating values (known as mark to market and unrealized gains) are not fully reconciled intraday. Plutus relies on the finalized Activity Statement that IBKR generates the following morning. This official statement properly reconciles all of those daily price fluctuations alongside your exact trade fills, fees, and commissions. The Strategy line will also not include after hours pricing leading to differences in model performance compared to your live, intraday performance viewable on IBKR.
